Oliver had his 3rd birthday at the end of September. We joined forces with our really good friends the Edsall's as their son Cormac was having his 2nd birthday a few days after Ollie.
To celebrate We decided to take our party to a a place south of where we live to
'Castledare Miniature Railway'.
We all had our 'jobs' to do as it were to organise the party. Gareth's was to make the birthday cake. Now, for months Ollie has been focused on having a Lightening McQueen cake, so obviously we needed to do that. But on the otherhand we were going to a miniature railway and so we really needed a Thomas the Tank engine cake. So it was decided that Gareth would make both :) McQueen for Ollie and Thomas for Cormac.
I should explain that at Castledare they have 4 working miniature trains that can carry quite a few people each, for a very small amount of money. So as part of the party each of our guests could go and have a ride on a train. Everyone was very patient waiting for their turn.
Gareth and I were the first to arrive, and were amazed at how busy it was. There were about 6 other parties happening, but we managed to secure a good sheltered spot.
We played pass the parcel whilst we were waiting for our bbq lunch that Todd was cooking:)
